– Give yourself a break
All of us, especially us older parents, have read so much and prepared ourselves so thoroughly for parenthood – no disposable diapers, only breastfeeding, no screens (when they get a bit older), no sugar, only healthy organic food etc. etc. that we put too much pressure on ourselves. We forget that parenting is as much an ordeal as it’s enjoyment. Just remember to take it easy every so often and give yourselves a break now and then.
Very valid Anil- being a new mother I have tendencies to try for perfection when it comes to our baby. We will try and keep ourselves in check:-)
Also Our OBGYN Recommended a fantastic book Dr. Spock’s Baby and Childcare, it is a classic. The book covers all possible parenting and child care issues parents can face with their baby from new born till 12 years of age. We are finding it very useful- it helps us to avoid over-parenting.
